Overview

This self-paced course provides aquaculture farmers with a practical understanding of the Singapore Standard SS 670:2021, covering requirements for farm management from nursery to post-harvest across open cage, pond, and closed containment systems. Using real examples and useful templates, participants will learn how to apply the standard effectively and prepare for GAP certification.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

• Interpret SS 670:2021 requirements and related national legislation;

• Understand biosecurity, environmental management, hygiene, and animal welfare practices;

• Develop required procedures, documentation, and records; and

• Conduct risk assessments and internal audits to verify compliance.

 

Target Audience

This course is suitable for anyone who is involved in meeting the requirements of SS 670:2021 within aquaculture operations. It is particularly suited for:

• Aquaculture personnel managing daily operations;

• Farm managers/supervisors overseeing production, biosecurity, and food safety;

• Coordinators and compliance officers handling internal audits; and

• Management involved in planning and oversight.

 

Course Facilitation

This course is delivered remotely through self-directed learning:   

• Self-directed learning specifically designed for busy learners. Learners can access and complete the learning topics and attempt course quizzes.

• Includes case studies and quizzes for practical application.

• The SS 670 standard is not included as part of this course. Participants must purchase or otherwise obtain their own copy and keep it accessible for use throughout the training and during the course assessment.

On meeting the following completion criteria, learners will be awarded a certificate of completion:

• Participants who pass the final assessment (≥70%) will receive a Certificate of Completion.
